‘Resbakuna sa Botika’ in Davao City rolled out

The government’s “Resbakuna sa Botika” has been rolled out at Watsons Pharmacy in SM Ecoland after it got approval from the Department of Health (DoH) as one of the anti-Covid vaccination jab sites in Davao City. The vaccination is free.

In an interview on the Davao City Disaster Radio on Friday, Vaccination Cluster Head Dr. Josephine Villafuerte said that Watsons has been inspected to qualify as one of the pharmacies to roll out the vaccination drive of the government. So far, Watsons is the only DoH-approved pharmacy to administer the anti-Covid vaccine.

“Kami ang nag-inspection and nag-assist. Sa Davao City isa pa lang, mao ni ang Watsons SM Ecoland (We conducted the inspection and we also assisted them. In Davao City there is only one, this is Watsons, SM Ecoland),” Villafuerte said.

Villafuerte said that Watsons will cater only to eligible A1-A5 and pediatric (12 to 17 years old) groups. Watsons cannot yet administer pediatric vaccination for 5 to 11 years old.

“They run the site, ang logistics and supply sa vaccines mao ra atong gihatag (They run the site, we provide the logistics and supply of vaccines),” she said, adding that the step-by-step process of regular vaccination rollout is ensured.

She added that the said pharmacy also complied with the standards set by DOH.

Villafuerte said that more pharmacies are still applying at DOH as Resbakuna sa Botika site.

The plan to open up pharmacies as areas for vaccination has been in the pipeline of the DOH in order to boost the vaccination drive in Davao City. (CIO)
