Health care frontliners, vaccinators mandated to wear Face shields

In light of the rising Covid-19 cases in Davao City, all medical healthcare frontliners and vaccinators in all vaccination sites are mandated to use face shields as another layer of protection against the coronavirus.

In an interview with the City Information Office (CIO) on Monday, Davao City Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said that vaccination hubs are converging areas, therefore another layer of protection should be placed.

“For us to have additional protection sa atong health care workers, we will be mandating them to use the face shield (For us to have an additional layer of protection for our health care workers, we will be mandating them to use the face shield),” Schlosser said.

Schlosser said that the wearing of a face shield has remained optional for the general public. Business owners, establishment owners, however, may require the wearing of face shields within their establishments.

Recall that the city government closed down the People’s Park vaccination hub for disinfection days after some health care frontliners tested positive of the Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease.

Schlosser said that the city government may open the People’s Park again within the week or once the decontamination is completed.

Also, Schlosser said that people are still reminded on following the Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS), use of alcohol or alcohol-based hand rub, washing of hands with soap and water, wearing of face mask, and physical distancing. CIO
