Covid-19 TF assures 2 vax hubs cleaned, personnel replaced

The Davao City Covid-19 Task Force on Wednesday assured the public that vaccination activities at People’s Park and Crocodile Park vaccination hubs have continued with new personnel to administer the jabs. The vaccination personnel who were infected with the virus at the two hubs are now in quarantine and the areas have been disinfected and cleaned.

Davao City Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser during the Covid-19 Alert over the Davao City Disaster Radio Wednesday, confirmed reports that as of January 19, a total of 22 health workers from People’s Park and the Crocodile Park vaccination hubs have been infected but have been replaced with new personnel to continue administering anti-Covid vaccination.

“We have to admit that naa tay several number of cases sa People’s Park. Ang among back-up plan is to replace all the infected and close contacts with new personnel so that clean ang atoang site and the site is already decontaminated so dili nato ikahadlok nga iinvite gihapon ang katawhan para magpabooster and magpabakuna didto (We have to admit that we have several cases in the People’s Park but it is in our back-up plan to replace all the infected and close contacts with new personnel so that our site will be clean. And the site is already decontaminated. We are confident to invite the public to have their booster dose and vaccination there),” she said.

Schlosser said that the people must not be afraid as the (affected) workers were already pulled out from the site and were isolated. Their close contacts were also isolated.

“Negative na po sa RT-PCR test na ang mga tao nga nag-serve didto karon. Nagdungag tag personnel na wala gyuy any close contacts po (The person serving in the area have negative RT PCR test results. The added personnel also do not have close contacts),” Schlosser said.

Schlosser said that the vaccination drives in the area will not stop because vaccination provides another layer of protection to people in this pandemic.

“We will not stop the operation because time is of the essence, kinahanglan gyud nato ang magpa-booster ug magbakauna sa mga tao because this is one of the best protection we can give para sa atoang battle against COVID-19 (We will not stop the operation because time is of the essence and we need the public to have booster and vaccine shots because this is one of the best protection we can give in our battle against COVID-19),” Schlosser said.
