More Dabawenyos, who will enlist themselves for the vaccination program of the city government, will have the chance to win raffle prizes as the city announced that the incentives will now be rolled out weekly.
During the Bida Bakunado program on the Davao City Disaster radio (DCDR), Davao City COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser announced that the incentives for the Bakuna Nights vaccinees will now be given every week to entice more Dabawenyos to visit the vaccination hub.
“Murag naganahan man ang mga tao so nadungog ra gyud sa atong good mayor and the rest of the COVID-19 Task Force na ang pahalipay medyo naka engganyo gyud sa katawhan para mas ma-engganyo magpa bakuna nag dili sila ma-bored sa area (More Dabawenyos were encouraged to get vaccinated because of the raffle promos. With the positive reception, our good mayor and the rest of the COVID-19 Task Force have agreed to schedule it weekly to ease the boredom of the vaccinees),” Schlosser.
However, to date, she said, that the raffle promo is only available in the Bakuna Night site in San Roque Central Elementary School in Barrio Obrero.
Meanwhile, more Bakuna Night hubs will be piloted and these would be located in NCCC Mall Buhangin and SM City Davao to make the vaccination more accessible to the public.
“We are hoping nga tanan Bakuna Nights, naay ing-ana na activity (We are hoping that all the Bakuna Nights will have this kind of activity),” she said.
The City Government of Davao has started launching this initiative on October 1, giving away such prizes as gift certificates, in a raffle. The promo will start from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Following the launching, it has drawn positive feedback from vaccinees.
Vaccinees may win any of the raffled items intended for Dabawenyos 18 years old and above, whether they have scheduled appointments or walk-ins. Vaccinees are to must bring DQR, valid ID, and ballpen.
Raffling of items is one of the strategies of the city to increase the number of vaccinated residents and address the vaccination backlog.
Schlosser said that based on their monitoring, there has been a clamor to make the raffling of prizes on a daily basis, and she is pinning her hope that it will be realized to help speed up the rollout of anti-COVID-19 shots.
With the ample supply of vaccine allocation for the city, she continues to encourage residents to visit the vaccination centers and get themselves inoculated so the city can achieve herd immunity by November.CIO
